Logies Best Documentary Nod for SBSi
SBSi production The Bridge at Midnight Trembles has been nominated for Most Outstanding Documentary at the 2007 Logies Awards.

A touching story about one man’s battle with Parkinson’s disease, The Bridge at Midnight Trembles was directed by Richard Moir and Esben Storm and charts Moir’s journey through the early stages of Parkinson’s disease.

The film captures private and moving moments and provides a valuable insight into the debilitating effects of Parkinson’s disease on both the sufferer and his family and friends.

Richard Moir’s indomitable personality shines through as he struggles with both the disease and its treatment, and Storm skillfully captures both the tragedy of this journey but also the triumph of Moir’s spirit.

“This nomination is both a credit to Moir and Storm as well as deserved recognition for SBSi’s commitment to commissioning quality documentaries for SBS,” Managing Director Shaun Brown said.

“While a harrowing tale, it is heartening that Moir in particular has been recognised for the bravery he showed in opening up his life for the cameras to ultimately assist the wider community to understand the effects of Parkinson’s disease.”

This brings the total Logie nominations for SBS to eight.
