+SBS GROWS AUDIENCE IN PRIME TIME
SBS's audience share has surged in key timeslots this year, including an impressive 25.4 per cent year on year increase in its Wednesday 7.30pm half hour timeslot, according to figures from OzTAM.

The Wednesday timeslot growth has been driven by programs throughout the year including Eco House, Is Your House Killing You, Vasili's Garden and Hairy Bikes Cookbook.

The growth figures for these programs are listed below:

SBS's Tuesday 7.30pm one hour timeslot has also increased its audience by 15.5 per cent, driven by its popular current affairs program, Insight.

The strongest growth occurred on Friday evenings which experienced 16.4 per cent increase in prime time viewers compared to last year.

This growth was driven by the move of the SBS show As It Happened to the Friday 8.30pm timeslot (from Saturday 7.30pm).The Friday 8.30 pm timeslot audience almost doubled to 234, 128 in 2007.

The Sunday prime time audience also increased by 15.6 per cent in 2007. This growth was underpinned by the Sunday edition of World News Australia which grew its timeslot audiences by 19 per cent. This provided a strong lead-in for following program Lost Worlds, which performed consistently throughout the year achieving 12.6 per cent audience growth.
